Stearing Collum Stalks..?

Hey guys,

Last week I purchased from Halfords an Alphine headunit, model ( CDE-9880R) Mainy becuase I can no connect my Ipod and control via the headunit and it's able to be wired up with my stearing collum controls. However when Halfords went to fit the collum control wires is was not working, so they've ordered a new wire (still waiting for it) just in case its the wire. I basically wanted to know could there be a problem with Renault parts, i.e the collum controls ect...? If so, trip to renault in order? And would it be an expensive jobby?

Could be both to be fair.

I've come across a couple of stalk adaptors that when fitted dont work, despite them being brand new out of the packet.

If the replacement does the same thing i'd suggest its the actual stalk control on the clio.
