Steering wheel airbag & horn cable snapped! HELP!

  Fabia VRS Special Ed
Today I was fittin my new steering wheel, the other one wouldn't budge...I was pulling the wheel off (I'd already moved the wires out of the way) but as I pulled one of the wires caught and it yanked the wire out, the cable is a white wire when held up to the light has four electrical wires running through.

It wraps around the steering boss and is approximately 1m long, I have since removed the whole thing and I'll upload pics in a minute if anyone needs them, but I want to know whether it is fixable or a new part is on the cards?

Cheers in advance
Liam

I've got one from a 182, dont know if it will fit but you can have it for free. It works fine except the cruise wires have a break somewhere but dont think you have cruise?

Oops...post some pics mate and I'll have a look.

Like Ben said below, it's the white cable thats wrapped up :(

If its the white wire thats wrapped around loads of times, you can try and put it back in, but trust me, you will be there all day.

Its called the Airbag Squib Slip Ring i think.

That's the one mate!

This is why you leave the big Torx bit on until you've got it loose.

I did, I removed it fine last night, just that the wheel wasn't centered so I went to move it and as I was taking it off this time it caught :(

I'll find out if it'd work mate, that'd be great!

I don't have cruise controls like you said buddy :)

Thanks very much guys.

I've managed to get the horn working now, took me forever to get the coiled wire back into the hole...I'm tempted to try and solder the wires back onto the connector, but don't know which wires go where lol.

Just waiting on the whole thing from Jenic now :)

Just out of interest, how the fcuk do you get the wire to go back in without it being too tight?

Is it supposed to be really lose? Or quite tight around the disc?

Also does it matter which way you solder the wires back on? I don't have a clue which way the wires go...

As in the white cable, has 4 wires inside, does it matter which you solder to which connection on the plug?

Only asking because if it means me risking blowing my head off whilst driving I'll just dismiss it lol!
