Is alcantara more hard wearing and forgiving than suede for a steering wheel?

That looks incredible, so clever using alacantara cloth from backseats too, with i had thought of that.

Mine has had frequent use for just over a year using material from the seats and still looks as good as the day it was fitted. Genuine Alcantara is a synthetic material and is hard wearing. The suede ones I see people unhappy with the wear on look very tired so I will say it lasts better.

Would you be able to do a alien green type colour on the stitching and centre wheel thing snappy? My 200 wheels doesn't feel the part! If so I'll be pm'ing payday..

Snappy ones are spot on.

Royal ones don't look anywhere near OEM, but quality of work looks good.

For me, i'd be going Snappy-man everytime

Aww mate im genuinely touched! I think it might look pretty neat actually, didn't even think about it haha! I will definitely give it some thought actually mate! I'll have to get the handbrake one done too if I go down that road though haha, it's hard to know what's for the best isn't it as you're always doing something people maybe haven't done before haha

Haha, yes mate will do, I think im going to buy a second hand box and take it to a specialist and get it fitted.

Sounds a good plan bud. You're fairly close to DDC in donny mate, you really must try them. Some of the most knowledgeable and lovely people I've met and f**king awesome with the renault sports! Have a lot of love and respect for the car's and get stuff done quickly too!

@chrisparker94 cheers buddy, she's a very different car now yes haha. I think she's a very good example now, sort of oem+ look I'm going for haha. Finished now though after a RARB and remap!

thanks Dr Jekyll, I think you may have had a slight influence over my decision haha

And I have thought about it, I had all the glass etc off to put striping inside the dials, but didn't know how to get the surround off? Looked plastic welded in

haha

Also I do need the handbrake button doing

I've had my steering wheel re-trimmed.
Needless to say I am extremely happy with the results.
I asked for the following:-
Black leather
Perforated leather thumb grips
Alcatara bottom section with the Trophy logo embroidered onto it.
held together with silver stitching.
