Sterring column - Mk1 Clio

Wasnt sure which forum section to put this in, so if its wrong can the admins correct it for me

Basically got some slack in the UJ's on the column due to wear and tear. Need to replace it soon, was wondering if anyone has done this before and if its difficult to do? I've got a workshop manual that tells me how to do it but would be nice to hear from someone that's done it before

People weld them as a cheap and permanant fix.

as above, it's very common to have them welded up

Get it welded mate alot less hassle than replacing the whole column.
