Sticky central dash trim removal

  Clio 182 Cup
Hello,

Like many of us on here, my 182 has got a horrible sticky finish the the plastic trim that goes around the central vents. Its so bad, its like a lint roller, attracting dust and hair.

Do you have to remove the whole upper part of the dash and replace the whole thing to get rid of it, or can it be removed, cleaned and then replaced? Can you do this without removing the upper part of the dash? If not, how difficult a job is it?

Thanks in advance.

It’s been talked about. On here loads. Removing the top dash is very straight forward think it’s 11 screws. One you have it out head down to your local ‘range’ or similar and buy some Elbow grease Mitch degreaser (yellow stuff) and a plastic scourer. Spray it on leave to soak and the lightly scrub, soak on warm water as well as it helps. Keep reapplying and scrubbing and it will come off. Any traces will start to turn white, which you then retreat and scrub again. Do not go mad or use a non plastic scourer as it will take the ‘glitter’ finish off. Take your time and it will come out fine and look like new

Thanks for the tips - a great help. I’ve read about what to use and how to get it off but just didn’t know about taking the dash off.
