Sticky door cill

When I was washing my car the other day, I noticed a strip of adhesive backing left on the drivers cill. Obviously, it was where a protective film was placed during manufacture/shipping of it, but has anyone got some decent ideas of what will shift it?

I was tempted to use some of that tar remover by Auto Glym as it was superb for getting stubburn crap off my previous motor without knackering the paint work. Anyone else had the same thing on their car?

Cheers,

D.

i had some crap billabong door sills on my car, and when i removed them there was a load of sticky double sided tape style glue.

i just put white spirit on it, and left it for a little bit to soak, then just rubbed at it with a cloth and its come off fine with no damage to the cill. then i just polish and waxed the area to protect it should i have damaged the lacquer but its fine.
