Still running ritch

As part of my recent service as I've only just got the car so wanted to give everything a good change as I'm not too sure the previous owner treat her right after finding rad weld in my water.

Changed, thermostat, coolant, coolant temp sensor, plugs with new ngks, oil, radiaor as it had a hole. The other week I got a missfire on cylinder 3 which I deleted and it never reappeared.

However I clean my new janspeed tails very often and within a few days they are covered in sut. This with the missfire fault leads me to believe something ain't right.

What should I change next?

Ok fair enuf.

What could be the possible causes thought? All I can think now are leads and coil pack.

just thought id bump this thread, had it on the diagnostic and nothing.

i shined up my tail pipes the other day and now they are black again after about 100 miles. is this normal? Plugs, thermostat, coolant sensor and rad are all brand new so i dont think its a cooling system issue or bad plugs.

Could it be the front lambda?

new plugs and check on here for the correct ones to use, theres plenty of threads about the wrong ones causing missfires.

i would have thought a lamba fault would bring the dash light on and show up on diagnostics, if the plugs dont sort it you may have an intermitant coilpack problem or your timings not set correctly if its had a cambelt change??!!

The plugs used were the proper ngks.

Danny I took it to a so called Renault specialist and they said diagnostics didn't show anything.

Not normal, mine can be clean even for a week or two, I mean no obvious carbon dust, just by the touch. You are well to believe it is reach although that wont kill it, what is your mpg?

on mtorways i get a good 41 if i stay at around 65. On normal driving mpg is really poor even if i dont thrash it

Yeh looks like I'll have to have a trip to them soon. It's strange though as it seems a bit chokey below 3000k revs but after that it runs perfect.
