Strict NAT settings

Never had this before but its a new xbox. I've put the IP to manual and entered it in DMZ in the router. I've also setup port forwarding for all the microsoft recommended ports but get a strict NAT warning when testing xbox live. When i set to auto IP i don't get a warning but neither let me join a Forza lobby?

Few threads on google about that router/xbox/nat issues may be worth checking them if this doesn't help....

When in DMZ the static ip you created on the xbox should have full unsecured access to all inwards and outward connections to the internet. Are you able to turn off the firewall for that ip if it is still on after going into dmz? also you say its a new xbox.. has the router saved any info from your old xbox that may be causing a conflict ? Try putting the static ip from the xbox in dmz again and give the router and xbox a reset see if it helps.... it does with mine when its starts f**king up lol

I read that giving it a static IP and the entering port forwarding for that specific IP would work. But it didn't.

yep, xbox live test passes with open NAT but when i try to connect to a game lobby i get NAT compatbility settings with the host. I guess it could be them, but everyone could connect ok.

You will need a static ip if using dmz mode otherwise the xbox may not always use the same ip meaning it may not always be in dmz mode. Tried putting the ports back to how they were and just using the ip in dmz?

COD4 used to do this to me on my o2 Wireless box. I used to join the lobby and it would say "Strict". I just used to stay in the lobby and restart my router, worked fine then. I'd have to do that couple of times a year, not noticed it recently though.
