stud conversions....

what size thread did you get and what spacers do you have if any :)

hey mate, I was supposed to be running 10mm spacers at the front and 8mm at the rear so I got studs to take this into account (even though I removed the spacers about a week after fitting the conversion due to me lowering the car further) :)

but they are 12x1.5 same as normal renault nuts, then length will depend on what spacers you are running but the ones for the front (10mm longer than standard), were about 54mm iirc

hope this helps

Looking at their (RareRims) tuner nuts, like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121038973486?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

Been quoted £1.20 each per stud, and then £27.95 for the set of studs (Comes in a pack of 20, even if I only need 16).

So £47.15 including postage to mainland UK.

So.... My current spacers, are the bolt-to-hub type, and then the wheel bolts, bolt to the spacer.
Do I need to convert my spacer to be used with the studs? Or get new spacers.

Yeah thats about what I paid from RareRims but I got the GT50 extended style

and no those are the type of spacers you need :) so you won't need them changing or adapting in anyway

bolt them to the hub as normal, then your studs get fitted to the spacer to replace your normal bolts (use threadlock and follow the fitting guide), but once they are fitted properly they won't come out lol, basically they will be set up so that you can only remove the studs (without knackering them) by removing the spacers

hope this helps mate

That makes sense actually, thinking about it now. All you're doing is replacing the wheel bolt, with a stud. So just get a stud that goes in the same hole, and a nut to keep the wheel in place.

Correct, very trivial stuff indeed. no drama at all

this^ ;)

We like simple! :D

Just need to work out the length of my stud now.

total length should be around 45mm if you aren't running any extra spacers because it is replacing standard length :)

mine are about 55mm at the front for 10mm spacers (which I dont run anymore)

Loctite make dozens of different strength of thread lock, go for something like a 712 which is a fairly strong one.

Or go in halfords and buy STUD lock as opposed to NUT lock, will be a similar thing then.
