Stumped! Driver related.

My friend has a HP Touchsmart 520. (Wireless keyboard, mouse and touchscreen monitor).

It was running sluggish so I wiped it and stuck a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Prem 64 Bit on it.

It's now come to set it up.

As there are no drivers anymore, there is no wireless mouse, keyboard or touchscreen function(s).

I've tried a wired laser mouse which is also failing to do anything, same with a wired usb keyboard.

Any ideas?

Download all drivers on another computer, put on USB and install.

Given Windows is plug and play, I'm unsure about the touchscreen, but the mouse and keyboard should work; have you checked they're turned on in bios?

Some wireless mice and keyboards do not work natively. Have you got a usb/ps2 keyboard you wan try? If so, first step would be to get it connected to the internet and turn on automatic driver downloading. This should then download the correct driver for you from windows update.

I'm guessing USB host isn't on the install.

I've tried a PS2 keyboard.

They are turned on in BIOS.

And I can't install the drivers through USB as Windows isn't set up or configured yet.

That's the thing, I can't even do that as you need a mouse to click "next" while doing the install.

Keyboard and Mouse are working in startup menu e.t.c, just stops working as soon as it gets to the windows screen to set it up.

Why isn't PS2 working? It's always worked for me if USB isn't. I'd get the drivers from another PC, boot into safe mode then try them. If all else fails, get a new copy. If you've got a vista disc can you do an install of that then upgrade?

Sorted it all in the end.

Used a live Remote Desktop control boot disc, and controlled it from there!
