Stupid garage trade in prices

Went and test drove a Megane 225 a few months ago now, got sent some bumph asking me to have one so thought why not, got to rag one round for a couple of hours and they even gave me a cheque to fill it up with some petrol

When they sat me down to talk figures they offered me a mere 4k for my black mk1 172, I know they're not worth much so thought fair enough.

I now see they have an identical model to mine, same year colour etc, on the forecourt for 7 GRAND! Having a laugh or what.

Funniest thing was whne he was telling me how they weren't worth much.

They also at the time had a 52plate Cup on the forecourt for 10k.

tbh i'd say that to them dude, ask them how they can justify offering you so little for your car when they have the same car for 3k more !

if they aren't interested sell it privately (you'll get more from selling it privately than a p/x any way) then slap down the cash & get a deal on the go with the dealers.

It being an Import wont help matters either.

Purchase price would of been lower so therefore selling price will be too.

When speaking about models of 172s it is usually taken that the first shape are known as mrk1 172s and the facelifts are known as mrk2s
The 172 should not be mixed up with all those common,lesser non-172 models!!!!

One simply does not do it,its just not cricket!
