sub help

Car  megane coupe+2003clio 1.2
i brought a sub yesterday and i am just fitting it.
the sub is dual voicecoil i belive, the box has plugs as if the sub is single voicecoil. there is a way of connecting the two voicecoils and running the sub on a single channel amp

anyone do me a diagram on how to do it please?!

thanks very much!! saved me muking it up!

any of them better than the other?

not a good combo there as you need the sub to show the amp 4 ohms ideally

and that website is s**t don't buy anything from them

like the sub shows as 1100wRMS when it's actually 500

oops, too late

gonna wire it like the first diagram then get a different sub later on

just don't turn the amp up too much trying to get more out of it

as i can't find the specs for the amp i'd say you are only going to get about 100w out of it

sorry to ask a thousand questions, says on the back of the box for the amp bridgeable to 4 ohms

still not right?

yeah but the sub is a dual 4 ohm

so either 2 or 8 ohms (you are going to wire it to 8 ohms)

What you really need is a 2ohm stable mono amp instead like this JBL, and wire the voice coils parallel like this to show the amp 2ohms.

You should get just over 500wrms (It says 580wrms but probably not that much in reality) out of it then which should be plenty for the sub.

well i wired it for now, and it dont work.
its not the sub, its either the amp of maybe the RCA's?

is there a way of testing the RCA's of you dont have another set?

yeah, as i am going back there tommorow now, i will try and change the sub.
what would you recommend from there site?

otherwise ill tell them i want a refund!

That Alpine is a good choice because each voice coil is 2 ohms so you'd be able to bridge your amp and still get full power from it.
