Submarine lighting for 182

Car  Arctic blue 182
If you've seen the official focus st website you'll have seen the "submarine lighting" feature - a red light shining down on the gearstick for a bit of ambience at night (audi tt has similar mood lighting). Has anyone fitted a coloured lamp or filter in the map reading light for a similar effect? Just wondering what it would look like. I'm off to find some boiled sweet wrappers and check it out....

e46 bmw 3's have them as well.. Might have to get a couple from down the scrappers and have a mess with them.. I also considered them for the footwells. Another cool one is puddle lights as featured on some BMW's. Leds on the underside of the door. When you open the door it lights up the ground.

jag s-types have a single street light colour LED only a tiny bulb near the wing mirror but it lights the gear lever area its really nice, also my dad`s audi a4 has them in red.

you need leds not normal lights.

I've got 12 leds that shine through the little holes at the side of the interior light. Works well, I use them to read maps and addresses etc
