SUPERCHARGED Alien Green 200 - PROGRESS TO DATE

To be fair a real memorable night that one........ 7 or 8 lap sprint / race with nothing between the 3 cars, probably my best track day!!

Well picked the wheels up this morning, and very impressed.... could only buy recommend WHEEL COAT at Leven to anyone who needs anything done.... from the very poor orange track wheels to this overnight!

Have used Wheel Coat a few times now, pretty much always ready the next day and good communications. Quite a few Powdercoaters in Fife but definitely the best I've used.

So I'm having thoughts about the AG....... I do like the look of the RS16 so most possibly a headlining, plastics, and leave the rear seats out just now..... but It will include full cage so inspiration below.....

The seats do resemble the Ines in it already so I may resell the 200 Recaros but they might look good so decisions in going.....

I'm also liking the decals, maybe a play on an RS 300 theme, due to the power output of the AG, and I Do like my roof stickers so I think something like this too.....

Comments always appreciated......

Love the idea of the RS300 theme Craig.
Also would be cool to get stickers made up for the car similar as the RS16 in grey/smoked chrome effect.
Love the idea of Road refined but track suitable.
Can't wait to see it!

That's the plan Paul. As it's track I want the smoked chrome theme, with charcoal Renault sport on the roof....,,

Clubsport spec ftw

I like your ideas bar 'rs300' purely because I'm not a fan of the 'rs' name used on these.

Green chrome/Matt green/Matt anthracite decals would look brilliant against the alien green

Renault mounted the harnesses like that in the r26.r and rs16. I know the Clio didn't make production but isn't that a dangerous way to mount them?

Someone mentioned recently they're safe in the r26.r but didn't post any info to confirm. Can anyone shed more light?

I have the rear cage in already mate, I would never mount harnesses like that. I like them on the bar

Should you really run recliners with harnesses? Not something I'm clued up on but I was sure it's bad news.

Even so I love this car
It doesn't run recliners just now mate, with the harnesses it has the club sports...., With the original interior I have also acquired all original seat belts so it would be a complete change over....

Well I had planned to wait until next week to go and get her out of storage but since it was a dry day, and I was lying on the couch eating crap and being lazy! I thought it was worth a trip.....

At least i can nip out and potter now! Started today, although darkness got the better of me.

First thing was to tackle the number plate lights. One missing a lens and there's no point in changing one when you can change 2.... made sure the bumper was given a good clean in all the bits you don't see as well:

Only other modification today was to the key ring

And just before I ran out of light I had time to put her new name on.....

First track day of the year for me is the 16th April. It shall be a novelty as I've never driven the car so it will be a big learning experience.

Anyway that gives me a month to do a full nut and bolt check before the outing.

More to follow.....,

Glorious day today, so before I got dragged out for a drive and dinner, I decided to start cleaning .....

Decided to start at the front and work my way to the back! It will take a few weekends I would suppose, with some powder coating of pets in between, but anyway, initial degrease and base clean before I start the sparkle 🙈

Also got the dip stick (new metal one) and the oil filler cap & screenwash cap changed over, as well as some re routing of a few things just to keep me happy and things right

Got the skuttle removed and noticed the drivers side drain is blocked so that's the mornings job to remove the swimming pool, as well as a thourough clean under there!!

IMG_5716.webp

IMG_5717.webp

I'll have these areas gleaming tomorrow too!

Finally ended the day by getting her up
On the ramps, as I'm planning an early start I don't think the neighbours will apprecate the AG starting at the crack of Dawn..... forgot just how loud she is 🙈

IMG_5731.webp

Also new battery arrived from Renault today as the other one died mid week !!

A few more photos will appear tomorrow, of a few interesting novelties I found on & under the car today!!

 the attention to detail is impressive to say the least!

More to follow......

Last time I saw this I swear you were talking about being a stance show queen with it! Glad to hear it's getting an outing soon

Up early and cracked on..... coming along nicely:up:. Paused for a break so thought I'd post a mid way update;

Drain tubes removed (drivers choked, passengers spotless)..... anyway, everything cleaned and built back up

So next was told start underneath..... happy with progress....

Box and sump have been coated during original build, so white hoses green sump and black box.... now all shiny again

IMG_5739.webp

So I decided to move into the floor pan next and that's coming along nicely too

IMG_5753.webp

IMG_5747.webp

I'll get the side skirts cleaned up properly as part of the main clean of the car.

Lower engine cover cleaned as well

IMG_5754.webp

so now build her back back up and get her reversed on the ramps to start the rear 🙈

More to follow.....

Just to clean my it mate. The black under seal doesn't generally cover the car. I have BT remived any just degreasing it all down.

Because it will be getting punished i like it to be clean so I can see everything that appears. To be fair the car was bone dry underneath wih no issues at all, so really me just being a little anal.

IMG_5756.webp

Anyway back on the ground now and ready for the sparkle clean

Well the last update for today.....

I'm not a real fan of after market window tints, they just don't look as clean as they need to and I hate the halo around the edge! So they have come off today. I'll get the fronts done next weekend 🙈

For losing an hour today I seem to have got a lot done!!

More to follow.....

Well I had a few hours spare tonight so I managed to get a little more done......

Both back wheels off, thourough clean under the rear arches, stud check & locktite, lubricate of all strut adjusters and of course a wheel clean inside and out.... no surprises and peace of mind with the check over

Need to do the same to the front so if I can steal a few hours later in the week, and the weather on my side, that will get the last of the mechanical checks completed.....

Also removed the heko wind deflectors as they are not needed for track and not really my thing!

More to follow.....

I must say it's a lovely car with a great spec!
Lots of people seem to be moving over to the 200's at the moment!

Thanks mate. It was really the only car I would have parted with the Trophy for as it was also quite special.... this time I let someone else spend the big money though
