suspension on a cup or non cup

Car  White ds3
im looking at geting coiovers and and iv got a 182 with the anthrecite aloys and was just wonderin if the person who got the car from new had upgraded the suspension to the cup suspencion would there be any difrence when i order my coiovers?

they only way to check is to measure the distance (centre to centre) between the 2 strut bolts

Whats the difference in measurements between Cup and FF Struts ?

And whats the difference in Cup and FF suspension apart from bolt spacing on struts?

i know this is a bit of a stupid question but is the srut bolts the ones on show under the bonet at the top of suspension the suspension and what should the mesurment be?

If its Cup packed it should be 60mm. This is the shock absorber on the bench if your wondering lol. Its the bolts that bolt to the hub :)

So behind the wheel, by the disc brake, measure the space centre- centre of the bottom of the suspension arm.

Come back and tell us what it is! :P

182's have a wider track than 172's, the non cup 182 uses 172 hubs though, whereas the cup has stronger hubs. To upgrade a non cup 182 shocks you need 172 suspension with camber adjustment or just fit some 182 cup hubs and do what you like. The rear is the same regardless.

172 suspension would put camber on the wheels as the shocks are designed for smaller track, hence the need for camber adjustment.
