this should be intersting - valvers are lurvely - although it wil probably fall appart quicker than straw house in a thunderstorm - do you have what it takes?!!!!!!
Y would I want a VTS really cant bloody stand them.
Ive driven a couple of valvers and really enjoyed them even did a swap with a mate for a day cos he wanted summat smarter to goto a job interview so took my Cup
VTS/GTi is a newer car for around the same $$$. A few breathing mods gives it 160bhp! You cant expect those kind of gains on a Valver. Imo it is also more fun to drive than a Valver. Ask Dan hes gone from a Valver to a GTi and loves it.
I have a 172 Cup and my cousin (JONGSR4) used to have a VTS and believe me mate on a UK road there is sweet FA in it!!! Youd have to break the law big time to leave a VTS or GTi in a 172.
Itll be good the have another valver round here jason! It should stop me waving at random blue mk2 clios thinking its you. Have you seen the blue valver with 172 wheels which is on manorfield road? Id quite like to have that.
Well i owned a 106gti and im sorry to piss on your bonfire but valvers go better, and i have yet to see a 106gti produce 160bhp from just breathing mods as u put it.
that sort of power means big valve head and a good set of cams!

Where you getting your info from dude!?
160bhp, lol. All the ones at the pug rr day i went to made 140 where mine made 150, same mods. Ive never had trouble pulling away from em.
ive got a valver and a cup,and im swapping from car to car every day theres things on the valver i wish was on the cup apart from the BHP theres really not much between them,if i was to choose it would probably be the valver
I dont claim to be an expert but 140bhp with breathing mods are the figures ive heard people round on this very forum talk about. Its mentioned it "other marques" all the time! Something to do with the VTS having an awful setup as standard or something.
After all this is a discussion forum and imo a VTS/GTi is a better car than a Valver.

Do you mean me? I only had a 1.2! lol
But your right, GTis are great cars. I wanted a valver for ages, but in the end decided to go for the GTi! Its not that much more money, for quite a newer car. No rust problems, generally lower miles. The only had part is actually getting hold of one. They seem to sell really quickly!
It always depends on the valver...there a lot of bad ones out and im not meaning rust...come up against a few mint examples and theyve been dog slow too. Choosing a VTS/GTI youre more likely to get to the power youre supposedly paying for and that aside they are very good. Valver...well take a good test drive...if its a good one itll be far better than a VTS/GTI...you dont have girly pedals either...
I had a freak Clio 16V that was making 155+bhp at the fly with minimal mods. It cost me a lot of time and money over the 2 years I had it, but it was a lovely, very raw car.
16Vs and Williams were notorious back in the day for being mileage sensitive giving over book power figures once loosened up. Autocar got 0-60 in 7.3 and 30-70 in 7.1 from their Valver, which back in 1991 was really something special in the hot hatch sector. Who knows what a decade and a half of only average care has though?
