Taking parts off a 16v 4 colour coding!!

While stood outside having a joint was looking at my car and have decided to colour code it myself this weekend! I thought if i feck it up i will then pay to get it colour coded!

Right, i have taken the boot strip off and removed the "Renault" & "Clio" badges leaving me 4 holes i gotta fill!

How do i remove the spoiler? I have removed the 2 end Torx screws but its still held firm!!

How do i remove the bump strips on the side?

Will probably need some more help as i work my way over the car!

What paint should i buy also?

Bump strips now removed! Guess how many plastic clips i broke?

theyll be another two screws under two rubber grommets in the tailgate!

the headlight eye brows u will need to take the headlight out and undo a torx screw then they unclip either side

door handles take off the door panel and unhook the metal pole from the handle and undo 2 nuts which i belive are 10mm!

bumper strips jus mask em up

cant think of nething else!

Yeah good man, only thing is there are no rubber grommets inside where the back of the spoiler is!!

Only grommets were for the boot strip!!

Handles will be next mate along with the wing mirrors base and mirror surround and the bit that runs along the bottom of the windscreen with the washers in!! Maybe do the boot lock too while im at it lol!!

Can i goto halfords and buy some 449 paint or do i need to get some made up? Whats the name of my colour blue?

remove everything go to a body shop and get it done they ont charge much at all as you have saved them time

best to get the paint made up by a shop bout £10s worth is all u need! paint codes on the engine code!

side strips £40
mirros £40
handles £20
spoiler £20

so bout a ton to colour code ur car!

What sort of price will i be looking at roughly?

How long will it take them too? Will it be illegal if i drive around without my wing mirrors as i will need my car on Monday morning! If they cnt fit it in tomorrow?

Still need help removing my spoiler!! There is no grommets on the inside!

I still might do it myself as it will be more satisfying, if i f**k it up i will get them to do it!

they wont get it in and painted 2moro, go and book it in as you just wont get the spot on finish mate

as for the mirrors you could always pul the "they must have fell off

or sum sh*t but i dont think its allowed lol!

what wet & dry do i need to rub the final coat down b4 laquering? is it 1500 grit?

i used 400 grade on my bumper strip, worked really well, I put my badges back on after, looks really classy

i have just been to halfords and got myself 3 cans of grey plastic prima, 3 cans of clear laquer and 2 cans of 449 that they had to make up for me! I got a packet of 1500 grit wet & dry and a pack of 240 grit wet & dry, hope fully have everything now! Am about to prep my boot strip ready for priming, should i keep the Renault & Clio badges chrome or spray them blue too or ditch them and fill the holes and go for the smooth look?

Does anyone know how i take my spoiler off? i dont wanna have to force it off!!

front spoiler has two bolts underneath which you only have to loosen, then theres one behind the numberplate, and then there is two pig ones inside , you have to take off the plastic guard things at the bottom then push go up and behind the spoiler, they are 10mm nuts, bit of a pig first time round but once you know how its easy need a 10mm spanner as opposed to a socket, spoiler then just pulls off

sorry scotty16v, i am on about the rear spoiler! I have removed the 2 end torx screws but it still wont budge! Any ideas?

right i will give it a good yanking tomorrow!

I have now primed up the boot strip and the 2 smaller rear end side bump strips and gonna let them dry tonight in the house, should i rub these down with some wet & dry b4 applying top coat? How many top coats should i give it all?

What should i do about the badges?

Spoiler should beheld firm along top edge by sticky stuff. Will need to use sharp knife to seperate spoiler from this and then you can unclip spoiler.

Right i have now sprayed the boot strip and the 2 rear side bump strips in 449 blue 2 coats of and they look good, they are a bit textured from the spray!

So do i lightly rub them down with some 1500grit wet & dry before laquering them?

I think it is going to look when done!! I cant wait to get them back on my motor as it looks a right state at the moment!!
