So last weekend Myself, @Fletcher and @TimR26 visited the Ring, The other two had been twice before but for me it was my first time. Very enjoyable time was had by all, no major problems to report of other than Fletcher's suspected misfire and Tim's exhaust hanger snapping off. The whole place is amazing and everyone should try it at some point. I cant wait to get the Petrol Blue there and get some laps under my belt.

So Friday morning i met up with Fletcher and drove up to Tim's to catch the Euro Tunnel.

After a quick blast through France we were in to Belgium. Tim's Recaro's are so comfy i slept the majority of the trip :) We stopped for Fuel and a quick bite to eat then headed into Germany.

We came in a different way than the other guys have normally come in and took some epic road in to Adenau through some tunnels. No pictures sadly :(

After a bit to eat we decided we should try and find somewhere that could fix Tim's Exhaust mount. Tried RSR but they were busy so popped over to Rent 4 Ring. Most of there Swifts were there also there 135. The chap there had it all welded up and sorted within 5 mins :)

Spent the rest of the day chilling out and then heading off to Pistenklaus for some epic steak. We left fairly early Monday morning. Another sleepy journey to the euro tunnel then back home.

Here are a couple of Videos i took in both the cars :)

See a ginger bloke at rent 4 ring, a mates just started working for them.
Looks like a quality weekend, can't wait to do it.

We did see an English guy come out and warn us about Matey's welding !!!

Which was more fun @Christopher. ? Both look great but the clio looked more enjoyable.

For me it's the Clio also.

The R26 is a complete monster on both track and road and it is a very nice car to be in when on the move. I'd definitely have Tim's one for sure but I'm more of a Clio fan rather than a Megane.

But the Clio feels more 'familiar' if that makes sense ? Even though I had to sit on top ,instead of in, the bucket seat, for 'one lap and a quick drive' I'd take the Clio every time.

I know the in's and out of that Clio mechanically probably more than Fletcher does. I'm not sure there's a part on there that iv not had a small part to play with and iv enjoyed every bit of it. It's got so so much character now and Fletch certainly uses it to its last % and it just seems to get better with age. Easily the best track focused Clio on this forum.

They're completely different cars. My R26 is a monster as Chris says but refined enough that I use it every day for work. Fletcher's 172 is a focused track car and from the passenger seat my impression was it felt quicker. The R26 is deceptively quick though whereas the 172 is more aggressive which comes across in the videos.

I definitely had more fun this year than last year when roles where reversed with the Fletchbus smashing the Storm Grey 172 :tonguewink:

Looks like a great trip, I think the snow caught a lot of people out.

It looks like september for my next trip, can't wait to get back out there, was the museum worth a trip? it's always been shut when I've been over (midweek) so I have't made it in there yet.

Cheers Chris. Yes mate you have done a lot of work on the old girl over the years, it's much appreciated mate :)

Haha your Megane is now bloody quick on the straights... just a shame I didn't get a dry passenger lap In the boost bus mate.

Nice write up. The first time I went to the 'ring was Spring 2008, and abit like yourselves, it was four seasons in one day, coupled with my first proper time out driving on track. I have managed to get back most years since, and I am hoping to get out again towards the end of the year, car depending.
