Television buying advice needed!

Car  Abarth 500
After a brief experiment of living without TV (except two hours a week for Lost and Top Gear!) the time has come to buy another telly...

I thought I knew what I wanted:
CRT Widescreen
100Hz
In built digital
for less than £400 (I've seen a few that might be of interest)

But now I'm confused!

Do I want a HD-ready TV? Or do I buy a cheap one to keep me going till HD ones cost less?

IS HD / HD ready that good? Any info, suggested models etc would be hugely appreciated...

:D

HD is too far away. You will only benefit from it when BBC etc use it so perhaps another year away. Better sets will be around then too.

And cood CRT TV's can beat LCD and Plasma for picture quality. Panasonic's used to be good but alos prone to faults. Think Toshiba are also rated.
