Thanks to Greenlight - Cheap Price for BD Postcode

  2010 Jetta TDi 140
For the last week or so, I have been battling with insurance companies to get a reasonable renewal price living in a BD postcode. As people automatically think this postcode is a complete s**t hole it proved to be quite difficult.

I have phoned specialist people like Sky Insurance who politely laughed and said no chance!

Then recently I saw a thread where someone got a much cheaper quote from Greenlight. I called them expecting bad news but the price was nearly £300 cheaper than last year and £400 cheaper than my renewal (Esure) with my Ktec Stealth declared.

To say I'm happy is an understatement.

This thread is basically for people who live in the bad post code regions to say give these guys a go!

Cheers,

Chris.

Ridiculous that some insurance companies just say no to BD postcodes. Baildon is a good area, and some BD postcodes go right up into the dales, must be some of the lowest risk area's going!

I found sky wrote off my postcode straight away too, but brentacre, flux and admiral group all give decent quotes. I asked the brentacre guy and he said it was a mid - good area even!

Just depends how they rate area's I suppose, I'll still try sky again next time as things are always changing!

I tried Flux and Admiral, Flux never got back to me and Admiral wanted about £1.5k (I'm paying £600)

We pay the house prices of a nice place but the insurance premiums of a s**t hole in where I live!

Excellent, I had thought of selling the car due to insurance costs. Getting that quote convinced me to keep it.
