Octavia VRS is going tomorrow, so i needed something to smoke around in for a bit. Had this dropped off to me today, 2003 53 Laguna 1.9dci 120bhp, full Renault history from new, loads of tax and m.o.t, done 95k. Should keep me going for a while until i find my next Audi.

A/C is properly freezing

My mate had one of these, looks same spec from what I can see. He did about 80k in it and never let him down. Really nice cars IMO and a great bargain for £800!

Off to AT...

They are the most comfiest cars to drive ever. And the Dash is so well thought out. Despite being basic, everything is so easy to use.

Ali, that's your Dads old one isn't it?

Yea, i got it for my dad last year for £980 trade in at work as he wanted a skip car. Perfect timing as he was selling it so i made a cheeky other of £800 and he dropped it off for me today whilst i was at work. Sharp eyes you have Daniel.

Yeah I always thought these were shockingly unreliable an an utter fortune to fix! Not a fan?

What's the plan car wise, Ali?

Not sure, a3 or a4? newer than 07 and has to be an s-line again. Going to run the laguna for a few months first, cheap motoring and I'm in no rush to find a new car. Tbh I hate cars lol

Everyone hates cars Ali. It doesn't stop us blindly loving them!

My dad had the 1.8 16v version as this.
Rear Springs on it failed pretty much every couple of years, plus the electrics went really weird and it ended up in limp mode.
But he did have nearly 10 years.

Rear springs or rear Axle bushes? Rear axle bushes are pretty much a bi-annual service item! lol. As are window regulators. And climate control panels. And Card readers. And key cards...

I'm leaving this thread now.

My dads front window regulators failed on both sides as well. It was just the spring that always failed mainly because they used to fall apart. Think it was just to soft a suspension really.

Lot's of the faults associated with these are pretty simple fixes thankfully. The climate panel was always a dry solder on the board and the keycards were fixed via a guy online for £20 a pop. The one issue I never sorted on ours was the rear wiper (estate model). Next time you follow one you'll see the rear wipers stuck in all kinds of stupid positions!

Bloody love these! Had a couple in our family. My dad did nearly 200k in his in the space of 3 years. 2 Turbos, a few sets of keys, thousands of tyre pressure sensors later... he still says how much he loved it!

My mums was hilariously fucked, she still loved that as well. Utter shed but it just kept going.

I think that they still look modern! Which is amazing considering they came out about 13 years ago.

Drove it tonight, it's actually alright, no knocks and bangs. Didn't feel to much of a jippo either. Forgot how good the a/c is in the lagunas.

Insurance cost me £218 for the year aswell lol

Yeah, the French know how to do comfort. The seats, the Heaters and the A/C. All spot on!
