'The big three' & alternator output

  RenaultSport clio 182 cup
Hello everyone 2 questions really,

Firstly, I want to do 'the big three' with 0 awg and was wondering does it actually matter if I leave the existing cables there and just add extra 0 awg cables?

Secondly, what output is the alternator on a standard 182? I've google searched but nothing has come up.

Cheers in advance.

i left the original ground in the car and placed an extra one over the top and that worked a treat

iirc the alt output is 90A

Hehe Fred! Just a little system to play some choons on!
Cheers Dink. I thought I might be alright.

My system is as follows:

Dynaudio 3 ways up front, 5" mids in rear just playing midbass
2 Helix amps bridged,1 Genesis Sub Ultra amp (1kwrms at 2 ohms)
Cd changer
Dab tuner and ariel
Battery in the boot on a split charge kit
0 awg/4 awg cabling

So it should sound alright when its in I think!

Cheers and any thoughts would be greatfully accepted.

I just want my charging system to be at its best that's all. Do you know anything about upgraded alternators? All I know is that they are expensive.

Why Dink what system have you got installed?

If funds allow I'm thinking of selling the 2 Helix's for a Genesis Dual Mono Extreme? Now that would sound sweet.

Cheers

I got a quote from the place in harlow (universal alternators?) for about £170 for a 140amp valver alternator - not too bad for double the power I thought.

Today, I ordered a clio dci alternator (125A). It should fit the 182 shouldn't it?

Does anybody now where I can send this to get rewound to higher output?

Cheers

Think you should have checked it fit beforehand!! lol

Don't know if it fits though.

Have a read of some of these threads from talk audio - might be of help?
The place in harlow is where I intend to go if I get one done - Universal Alternators I think? I'd get an uprated one now but I can't afford it :(

Or there's zimsounds or utopia I think, also both mentioned in those threads. :)
