Great pics. What made you get rid?

what a waste of money to go from Birmingham only to be very disappointed. Condition of car was average. On start up it sounded like compression was down,it was very slow for an sti more like a non sti, uk clocks in it, petrol cap dented and very badly fitted along with being painted on that whole side, rust around boot where screen is which isnt visible when boot closed, boot carpet very tatty and dirty, boot paint very rough and dirty, engine bay looked like it had time spent on it to "make it look clean".clutch was sky high with bite at very top.
on arranging to meet the guy near docs for 8.30am he arrived at 9.15am leaving me 15mins to check car, test drive, etc and board ferry. he was a right arsehole. stay away guys!! hope i get my deposit back via paypal as it cost me a fair bit as i was buying 2 cars off him, the other having problems which wernt told to me.
i did offer to buy the other car as i felt it was worth my while to sort out and sell on but his reply was both or nothing! i wanted the 2nd car to sell on so the jdm would cost me a little less as i was planning on keeping it.
all in all with the taxis and flight and ferry etc for me and my friend as he was going to drive second car it cost me, 85 flights, 280 ferry, taxis 180 (150 for taxi home from liverpool!!).
just thaught id let fellow members know that this car isnt what it seems so please bare this in mind.
Not enough interest in the car aparantly. Some nice bits going too, must resist
Should have bought mine!
Yeah looks ok, i cant think where i've seen that advertised, mmm.
Indoor thunder lol. what exhaust is that?
Yep, you get all the bad points of a impreza i.e Poor MPG, unrefined, but not the one thing that makes you see past them.Boost.
And it's cat C.
Yeah - not ideal!!
Didnt spot that - was just surprised to see the newer shape at that price. Dpnt know enough about them at the moment.
I've just been "testing the water" with some quotes on impreza's...f**k me they vary wildly! Classic STi's are coming back at £1500 yet blob eye STi's with PPP at £650. Riddle me that
Any Classic STI will almost certainly be a import.
even specialists cost a fair bit more for imports, was circa £300 more for an import than a uk car for me when i was getting quotes. they are much better cars though out of the box. my standard v3 sti i had imported was just awesome to drive compared to a uk turbo.
Just spoke to Adrian Flux who is my current insurer. Using Dans reg with the mods its got they want £1431.00 and for a standard STi 5 £1290.00.
I'm 28 (almost 29), No accidents in 11 years of driving, 5 years no claims, good post code. Bit silly really bearing in mind my TT is £390. I know they're not really comparable but still a "performance car". I also had to list all cars ive owned over 200bhp..lol! Took a while.
