The new clio, might have spotted it at FCS

  In between cars....
well heres the replacement for the 106, well not the replacement but you know what i mean lol, a 2002 Renault Clio Dci, 1.5 turbo diesel, 65bhp and 125 ft/lb factory standard
like this wee thing in a different kina way, its CHEAP CHEAP, and i mean im averageing 60mpg!!! insurance went down 35 quid a month and a years road tax is only 35 pound a YEAR!! lol
plan is in a few month when me and the girlfriend have relocated and settled properly this will become her car and ill get a quick something again but not until ive experimented with this a bit ;) lol
well first here she is, on saturday the day before FCS gave it the works, washed clayed washed polished and waxed, then properly cleaned and detailed, id say it came up pretty good
i HATE the wheels but i got a great deal on the car and they will be changed soon

so the plans are to
1) drop it 40mm
2) stick on some nice 17's
3) paint up the calipers and drums aswell as the towbar mounting
4) finally a trip to RS Tuning who are renault remapping specialists, a gain of 35bhp and 40 lb/ft to be had here so well worth it for 295 ;)
5) and if i can ill get hold of a nicer interior, maybe the half leather out an early sport ;) lol
if i feel really adventurous ill stick on the injectors and intercooler from a later 80 or 100bhp version then remap it ;)

could be taken off bt i like mountain bikeing so ill probably be useing it soon, dunno yet, will wait and see

best colour, not that im biased at all . . .

defo needs a PCing though, loads of swirl marks, but our colour does tend to show them off :(

nice little motor you have lad

100bhp from a 68? a bit ambitious?

I thought it was about:

68 to 88

80/86 to 100+

106 to 120

still would make a difference

P.S: best mod on mine was a K&N freeflow panel filter (about £30)

Pre-filter and strong 'custom' re-map:
wheezy @ 3800rpm
86bhp, 136lb/ft
100mph+ a struggle
53mpg
0-60 in 12 seconds (GPS)
0-90 in 30 seconds (GPS)

Post filter & re-map:
Revs to 5K
110bhp, 180lb/ft
100 in 4th
120+ in 5th
60mpg
0-60 in 9.4 secs (GPS)
0-90 in 22 secs (GPS)

no!

68 has no intercooler

86, 100 and 106 are essentially the same altho 100/106 have different gearbox

  03 Clio 1.6 16v Dynamique
The new diesel Dynamiques are 6 speed aren't they - That must help matters performance and economy wise?

Kinna waiting for a bargain on one of those 100 brake models.

Pete.

the new mk3 dci86 has a 5speed box the 106 has a 6speed box its a grand m more imo spend 500 on toys on an dci86 500 on a remap an its penuts to tax it ;) 35quid an it will eat a 106 :D

:( i just hope i can remap mine

For the price you won't to stick the injectors on there not cheap new second hand well they need programming to work even if you go get them.

Only the 80 will fit the 100's are different.

Very unliky yo that sort of gains from remap unless its extremely violent and won't last long.

i thought they were all the same just mapped differently when built?

no!

100 has a stronger internals.
106 is essence realy a new engine its a whole new block and stronger again. Won't even mate to the JC/JB boxes any more.

65 and 80 are the same bar injectors turbo slightly different boost operation intercooler and remap

Not long enough geared realy unfortunatly. Only the 106 is 6 speed.

the 106 issn't the £35 a year road fund its the next band up unfortunatly.

so the injectors and intercooler off a later model wouldnt fit then? that makes things easy then ill just get the remap

did get the numbers wrong there apparently itll go to about 90bhp and get about 30lb.ft torque, well so im told

and the paint isnt swirled buddy o no need for a pcing just crap on the lense of my phone i think :)

and mite do a bit of colour codeing, mate back home rns a body shop :)

  In between cars....
not really doing it to get performance tbh, i like playing about and learning, anything done bar the map i would do myself
