It was quite nice to drive, the only downside I found was it felt a bit like driving a sponge, as it just bounces round everywhere! But coming from the 197 which is fairly stiff suppose it's normal ha.

Drove a Ford for the first time yesterday as I lent the girlfriend the 197. It's a brand new 1.4 tdci Fiesta. It was quite nice to drive, the only downside I found was it felt a bit like driving a sponge, as it just bounces round everywhere! But coming from the 197 which is fairly stiff suppose it's normal ha.
This an area of huge retardation though TBF. Ford gave it the power to fit inside an insurance group. It was never intended to go guns blazing with 182. It was a warm hatch. All it was ever intended to be.

I really do hope so if I hear down the line one is coming out I shall hold fire on adding to my 182 and start saving for one of them as I do berlieve the fiesta RS will be awesome!

It's not "THE" ST .. it's a current production (probably Zetec S) with stuff gaffa taped on.
Given the camoflauge going on the new Transit at the moment, this was intended on being seen !! Nothing like a bit of exposure to get the rumours going haha !

The white one doesn't even have side skirts!
Why the f**k would people assume that's what it's going to look like. Without sounding mental it'll look pretty close to this imo apart from the wheels maybe...
If you look at the white one, big grille and the lower front bumper look the same as the render. Infact the render has the exact same front end. Look at the bonnet to bumper.... no upper grille.
I'd be willing to put bets on it not having stuck on splitters. They will be one piece unlike the zetec-s.

Wrong. It's also Focus ST.
Look at the white one in the first picture. Front end is exactly the same. I hate AE but the front end is pretty bang on the test car!

Not sure where the ST will be built yet ...The Cologne Technical Centre has been there a while now .. Also Dunton Technical Centre (Basildon) designed the latest Fiesta. Dagenham only build engines now !
The 1,000,000th one just rolled off the production line back in May !

The Dagenham site is not even a quarter of the size it was, it's wierd seeing it now compared to 10years ago.

exactly, just because it has a 2.0 lump people compare it to the 2.0 in the renaultsport clios.
the new ST MK7 looks exactly like the ZS in that shape, lets hope its abit improved

It's not biased, even my mates ZS has a fantastic chassis, i'm yet to drive the ST.

I think the newer Fiesta's look really smart personally. The inside is very funky and futuristic. I can see it being a good car - and if it's kicking out 180bhp (and let's face it, Ford's figure's tend to be a bit more accurate than Renault's) then i reckon it will have enough poke to be worrying Clio 200's.

Had the pleasure of driving a boggo standard one for a while back when I still had my RS Twingo. I remember throwing it around and thinking it was more fun than my Twingo!
Bit dissappointed its not got more power, it would have been nice if Ford raised the game in this small hot hatch sector by giving it say, 225ps, but no doubt it'll be a cracking drive going off the lessor models in the range.
