Bought a 13 Pro max.

Will have my immaculate S23 unlocked 128gb in Green (was brand new/unused) when I got it.

I fancy trying a 13 pro.

The s23 will be around £500 delivered with a spigen ultra case.

It's an excellent phone.

Anyone tried Backmarket?

Missus has her heart set on this

Never used them but good trust pilot and good phone the s21. Night and day compared with the other shite you were thinking of. An old flagship beats a new budget phone usually.

What are your thoughts on the Pro Max?

I'm tempted to switch over from my Pixel Pro at some point to a Pro Max, mainly for the LiDAR scanner, as it'll be useful when on site to gather measurements. But only ever had Android phones.

Getting this week mate. I'm sure it will be decent. Fancied the max due to the bigger screen and battery.

I'm getting old.

Got an S23 Ultra coming tomorrow.

Is google the best place to switch over my current phone and settings etc?

I think I use samsing and Google drive for back ups.

I'm after a 13 or 14 pro max

Is there much difference between the 2? Is the 14 worth the £300 extra?

You just sit the phones next to each other? you don't have to back up, think smart switch does everything from memory.

Money no object 14 pro or max. I bought a used 13 max and very happy with it.

14 pro is a slightly better overall phone I think and if you had a 12 or older it would be a smart upgrade. From the 13 not so much iirc.

You can get the 14 pro used for around £900, maybe a bit less.

13 pro and the max around £650 used.

All sorted.

Are Spigen still the place to get cases? Also need a screen protector.

Are clear cases a bit naff?

Get a Samsung screen protector and a dbrand grip case. With black leather skin on the back and smell it thoughout the day. Solid case.

Grab a cheap case while you wait for dbrand. 😘

Or...

Looks good, personally couldn't care less about the bezel on the inside. Looks much nicer than the Samsung alternative. Wonder if Apple will eventually follow suit.

Who's got an s23 ultra then and what's the verdict?

I've had mine since launch now.
Think it's brilliant. I traded in my S21 Ultra for one and that was a good phone as it was but this is just much better.
Camera, battery, screen resolution, screen size/shape. Also sound from the speakers is lots better when watching YouTube etc
Only downside I'd say is the size of the thing with a case on is very big. It's only mm bigger than the s21 but the shape of it makes it feel a lot bigger I think.

Overall though I am very happy I made the move.

Cheers for that got an older s series so will be a big spec jump for me but the only thing that is a bit off putting is it's fair old chunk of a phone with case as you say🤣

What case do you have do you have? Do you run a screen protector on or does it come with one one already like the s21's?

I have a spigen case on it.
Not got a screen protector on currently. I did have one on but it kept sliding up the screen over time. Have got a genuine Samsung one to fit

It doesn't come with one like the s21 did no

It's mildly better than the S21 Ultra.

Stylus is useful. Camera still has shutter lag indoors.

The weight is better distributed than the s21 which was top heavy

If my work wasn't paying for a new one I would be pissed if I paid £1000 to upgrade it.

It's nicer to hold as it's square

Are you that underwhelmed by it?

The actual performance of the phone is completely night and day compared to my S21U. Barely heats up or slows down performance wise no matter what I'm doing. S21 was almost always throttling performance when it came to intensive stuff.

Battery life is the best I've ever had on a phone too. 4hrs screen time since it came off charge this morning and I'm still at 56% battery. S21 would be nearly dead by now.

I mean, other than the shape it generally feels no different to use to the S21 but it's leagues ahead in every aspect IMO.

Maybe I'm expecting too much, I used good guardians regularly to clean the S21U and it was always lightning quick. Stock Home too as Nova went occasionally buggy.

The battery is better but maybe its a sign of the times and the lack of progression that isn't wowing me!

I'm currently on the S21Ultra and by far it's been the best phone I've ever owned - the camera has been awesome.

With RPI increases my bill is now £61 a month or something which is a joke but coming up to renewal soon

Unfortunately, my main camera (1.0x) has started to take blurry photos now which is annoying, lots of this on google when I looked.. the other lenses are fine though.

I've seen the 512GB S23 Ultra for cheaper than what I'm currently paying....

£599 upfront, £22 a month = total of £1127 for 2 years with three 100GB

equates to just £46.95 a month....

That's cheaper than I could even buy the phone outright for?

There's also another with less down upfront;

£125 down and it's 45 per month

so £1205 in total, equates to say £50.20 a month

Madness

You can get the 512gb in graphite for around £969 outright with a £300 Amazon voucher via Samsung EPP (exc. perks at work)
You need to trade in some £5 phone from eBay.

I got mine for £869 after trade in.

£8/m for my 30gb/m with data rollover SIMO deal makes it £1061 all in over 24m, with a £300 adidas voucher, for comparison.

I ended up cancelling the above order as I got better deal....
£1,400 argos vouchers for £1,050 (25% off) - £150 trade in for a damaged A320.
Then sold my oneplus 8 for £150.

Total cost £750.

Got a Spiegen case, but it's fouling my screen protector.
Phone is decent though, so glad to be back on android.
