The New Phone Thread

Love what Nothing do. Just so interesting in comparison to others, yet actually making good products. Carl is still the king of getting close to flagship killer specs.

My dream flagship would have their software and design.

Website reads like someone at jaguar designed it.

Very interesting. Might try and man maths my way to this if people genuinely don't have issues with signal.

Currently paying £9 a month for sim only. But could buy a one plus 15 outright and sim only to Bring costs down.

You aren't allowed now, not after you bad mouthed it. Stick with your 9 quid sim lad

Pulled the trigger on the S26 Ultra via the deal, didn't go contract in the end as got it cheaper via the misses employee scheme (She got it for me 🤔)

Trading in S23U 512GB with a battery pretty worn down for £400, no brainer!

£587.15 total, will get an ID mobile 108GB sim for £9/month soon. Bosh

Did you try the codes I put up above, and paying by PayPal, you’d have potentially got another £200 off that.

Yeah the S26AI one worked for 100 off but the paypal one didn't due to it being a weird portal thingy, being the tightwad I am, I did ask on chat if this was correct and they said yes.. shame, but can't grumble!

You don’t need a code for PayPal, you just used it as a payment option and it takes an extra £100 off at checkout.

Mrs S25U arrived just. Looking forward to having a mess later after I finish work.
Will be good to look at the phone too

Yeah, some of the big carriers restrict your speeds depending on your plan as well tbf.

I find giff gaff f**king painful. Been with them ten years. Generally signal poor and speeds slow.

Eu roaming is a joke. Been in france last few days. All works fine then get to the last gb of roaming and they restrict me to 3G and literally nothing loads via data.

End up buying an esim.

Should really move away tbh

Just got the dispatched email via Samsung for the S26 ultra, not had a day yet though, hopefully this week at some point!

Had my S26 Ultra for just over a week now. Honestly, I haven't been excited about a new phone in a while and this is much the same.

Its not bad, not at all. Slightly quicker, screen seems nicer, the phone is WAY lighter than my S23, some new features are nice. Dont get me wrong, im happy I upgraded.

But.

Its basically the same as my old phone. Camera was great, is slightly better now. Battery life is better, but not 'wow, it lasts forever!' good.

Am I just getting old or does anyone else feel the same?

Yes, I felt the same when I went from my S21U to S23U, but it is nice to not have to charge it 3x a day which I'm currently doing 😂 all much of a muchness at this level but what can you do! 2.5 years for a phone seems about as much as I can tolerate 😂

Oh! I forgot to add and cant edit now.

Came with free Bud Pro 3 earbuds which, aside from the stupid orientation you put them in the case to charge them, are ace!

Light, comfortable (as comfortable as earbuds can be), bass is good, noise cancelling is about as good as can be expected.

More happy with the earbuds than the bloody £1250 phone :ROFLMAO:

I’m running a 13pro with a new battery. I see no need to upgrade.

Think we're over the era of exciting phones to be honest. I'm just mostly looking forward to getting a new battery!

Didn't you get the new buds 4 pro? They are meant to be very very good for the type of stems.

boom, S26U all set up, got myself an amazon special case but seems okay to be fair. Camera is a monster but same old generally, need to watch a video on setup before I forget and it becomes a carbon copy of my S23.... haha. Day one, battery life has been unreal, I'd have had to charge my S23 by now. I've put battery protection on to limit it to 85% and won't leave it plugged in overnight and see if that makes any difference over time...

Sorry, I missed this.

Yep, Buds 4 pro something or others.

Ive been needing a new set of earbuds since I lost the left one of my B&W's mountainbiking (im a mong).

Genuinely, theyre good. Really good. For an earbud. They're not a patch on my Bose QC's but genuinely, im impressed for such little things.

The biggest gripe I have of them is how stupid the charging case is. You have to orient them in such a way to get the stalks into the case that it makes putting them back in a bit annoying. Otherwise, good stuff!

I kept looking at the S26U yesterday

I'm not sure I can bring myself to spend £1500 when my S22U still works fine and the battery isn't fubar

Same feeling for me might just see if there's any nice deals around black Friday. S21U still running great managed to get this cheaper a few months after release too with a damaged box through Currys clearance so will be keeping an eye out.

I'm not even sure if I'd notice any of the performance or camera gains lol.

Nah but that's currently what the S26U 1TB is

I usually just get the flagship model and keep it for 5 years🤣

You could probably get it cheaper with employee portal discounts, trade in and some voucher codes maybe?

I'm in the same boat as you @Klumpy Dumpy

Mines slowing down a bit now, mainly cos of all the pics and videos on there I reckon. I'm still on the same case as when I bought it too if you remember that carbon magsafe one?

I just can't bring myself to spending all that dollar on a phone that's got the same battery capacity 😂

Has yours started to freeze up randomly and take a moment to do some stuff?

Mine has, which is what's making me want something newer. 5 years out of these isn't bad at all and if it wasn't for the hiccups its having every now and then I wouldn't even dare replacing it

It may be the same capacity but the way they improve the processing etc means the battery lasts longer deffo

Yeah exactly that, just feels like it's lagging a bit but for 4 years (we got ours in 22 didn't we?) I'm more than happy with that!

Have you looked at the one plus 15 at all @Klumpy Dumpy . It looks properly promising and dirt cheap too.

I prefer the new 6.3" one! I desperately want a 6.3" nothing flagship! 😂

I don't think I've even factory reset my S21U in the whole time I've owned it. Feel like I always used to reset my iOS devices to get the best out of the them.

I can’t remember ever having to reset a phone to make it work like it should.

Maybe turn it off to power cycle it on the rare occasion, but that goes for every device.

I used to reset my iPhone years ago it was the 6s iirc feel like it used to make a difference but I've been with Samsung since the S8 and never reset them.

Ooh which is this? Sometimes I do wonder if something smaller might be easier to live with day in day out.
It's a shame iPhones are so frustrating because the normal pro is a proper 6.3" flagship but I can't use an iPhone. I try, and I use a 12 almost daily but I couldn't live with one every day.

6.3 inch. Samsung anti reflective display. Nothing design. Decent cameras and a 1tb option. Take my money.
