Theft - How Quickly does it happen

Okay...i recently purchased a set of valve caps for my car at a small cost.

They were on my car for 6 hours before someone nicked them from a car park ( i hate those things!)

Now even though this is not particularily annoying and didnt cost me too many nights lost sleep thinking about my huge loss..i just wondered if any of you had any terrible tales of woe about things you had nicked and what the record is?

btw...this has to be restricted to items fitted in or on your car.

Winner get the address to the tos*ers house to exact vengeance! - I Wish!

My old 306 was broken into...they got a pair of Animal sunglasses, and a pair of prescription specs...when I reported it to the police, I was asked what my ethnic origin was, to which I replied "Well, the car is blue!"

The stolen items werent even on show, some smackheads having a laugh (at my expense!)

Valve cap nicked within an hour, parked outised my house. They only nicked one as well for some reason, but i park on a street, i still dont see why they didnt nick the other o/s cap.

my dads GF kids asked me the other day, if i wanted any alloy caps, as i had a couple missing coz some cheeky barstads had nicked mine.

in return i asked "where will u be getting these from?"

oh we will knick them for u they replied

i was soooooooo pissed off cudda wacked them the dam pikeys, then gave them a lecture about why its wrong and how they will get pissed off when it happens to them when they get their cars (as at the time they were helping me clean my car and asking me loads questions about cars etc)

on another note, ive hand the rear washer arm bolt cover knicked ages ago, and it would be so easy for me to nick one... but have i?!?

no!! :D

if only their were no pikeys

i know a bloke who bought an escort cosworth from a garage, there wasnt any petrol in it so they drove it round to the petrol station at the front of the showroom 5 minutes after picking it up, whilst he was paying for petrol someone screwed his door lock and smashed his steering lock, didnt get the car though as it had immobb..., but not good eh

:) a chance to tell one of my favourite stories, leaving a mates house about 2 in the morning. some scroat trying to screw the lock on my car. dunno who got more of a shock as i came out the door, me or him. reflex action one mighty kick to his ribs (felt very very good) a punch and then sit on him till plod turned up.

to be fair they took him away but nothing happened to him, he got a caution and that was all.

very very satisfying though :D

Not car related but when i used to work in oldham i guy i worked with would come round near pay day and take orders for gear his mate would be nicking over the weekend! makes couldnt be specifed until he had done someones house but all you had to say was fax machine, stereo, video etc and the next pay day his mate would turn up with his car full of stuff

^^ id have shopped the mailto:f@cker">f@cker, someone worked hard for that gear, youd have certainly noticed the difference if your house had been done over at some point.
