iv noticed alot of people complaining about there renualt discs corroding, and wearing realy fast. i wonder if there is a faulty batch, where the mixture of he metal isnt right. to much iron for example....

mine go a rusty color once ive washed it. duno why just renault ones for yer

I've had the same on every car I've had...it's just mild surface oxidization and always comes off when the car is driven.

yeah that rusting/yellow look always happens when ya wash it.
i think the serious point is when the discs actualy start to break apart.:)

they are made from iron, so they will rust in milli-seconds....its not even something to worry about.

If you want brakes that wont rust, then you wont stop either.

^^ dumbass lol. rust happens on all discs, however im tlking about the REAL deeeeep rust the causes the brake to break up.

how long are you leaving it for cRust to build up!!!?

iv never had the problem. i just read a few posts on here tho with people saying the have the problem. like one guy said his clio had its 18000 service, 4000 miles later he discs were wrecked..

Just had a thought... i wonder if its anything to do with the new salt there using on the roads?!

i went to gdi with my 182 in nov time i think, bought it in oct 04, done 18k at the time of going to gdi. had werid grindy brakes from cold.

andy checked them out and it appeared the pads weren't sitting correctly and reckoned i needed some new pads in a few months time. done 20.5k now. brakes arre better after andy tidied them up and got the air out the brake fluid buti reckon i'll get new front discs before 24k service.

i reckon thats about right wear tbh.
