Time for new tyres I think

Hi everyone. I know that there are literally thousands of threads about this subject, but I just want to know a cheap place to go for tyres in or around the midlands (halesowen, cradley, blackheath etc).

Ive got Michelin Pilot Primacys on at the mo, but will prob go for Exaltos

What size tyre does a 51reg 172 take?

From what I can see Im looking at about 70ish quid per tyre. Does that sound about right?

Are Michelins the best? cuz that seems to the be consensus of opinion with Cliosport members.

Are PE2s omni-directional?

If youre going for the eagle f1s, try and find a local Hi Q tyre dealer as theyll be cheaper than buying them off mytyres due to Hi Q being a Goodyear dealer.

I had Primacys on my Williams 3 - good tyres IMO.

Ok let me bring a hidden contender into the arena..

I think people should seriously look at Vredestein Sportrac 2s

Five star rating in dry, four stars in wet and i think they got a three star rating in snow....

These tyres are more of an all weather tyre and exceptional in the rain..I have them on my car now...

But they are only £48 each and each side of the v tread is what looks like Monsoon rain grooves which are index finger width... This is for tyres 195/45/16V

Tried the car hard around bends and it stays there no understear...waiting for the snow this weekend and heavy rain towards end of next week for full potential...

So far I have tried:

Continentals as everyone has

Pirelli Zero Neros - They were ok, not great in wet

Dunlop SP9000 - Good tyres in wet and not as good as pirellis in dry but still better than Continentals.

Vrdestein Sportract 2s with mad Monsoon grooves..superb
