I am 35 now... And still wake up sometimes panicking about uni exams and finishing my dissatation!

Good luck!

FPMSL! Me too! Must be a middle-age-fast-approaching-thing, eh?! ;)

Great summary of motors there, m8. I must say that the Cossie on Page 2 and the Westy have both been the ones to give me the biggest twitch!

That westy must shift a little, would do a amazing lap time.

definately get Mark Fish to set it up for you, and that thing will be crazy fast.

i think i want to be you for a day :(

Awesome collection of cars, love the R34, looks stunning!
Any mods made to it?

Also i will be driving a F430 soon @ Thruxton, cant wait! Any driving tips you could pass on to get the most out of it?

Thanks. Ferrari tip? just rev it HARD! and enjoy the experience :)

The R34 was running a Dyno proven 552bhp... had HKS 2530 Turbos and few othere bits and bobs but it never felt that fast.

The Sierra and Porsche both used to WALK away from it in a straight line.

it had Nismo G-attack suspension made by Ohlins on it... meant it was NASTY on the road but VERY VERY good on track for a big old bus.

I ran R888's... and they generate ALOT of grip in these sizes!!!!!

Brilliant thread

Though never mind about any of the cars etc

World Cup........... Jealous

Yes should be great.

Cars and watching all sports are my passion. Fortunately I am very very lucky that my job enables me to go to all the major events. Am off to the Ashes in Austrailia over Christmas as well. Looking forward to that! have spare seats in my box if anyone is in melbourne over christmas and fancies watching some cricket and drinking some beers!

boxing and Rugby are my real passions. This year has been great so far. Was lucky enough to see David haye win and then defend his titles. I was on his flight back as well and got to meet him in airport. Top fella he is. I am the fat tw*t in the glasses!

if anyone ever needs tickets to sporting events to sold then its worth PMing me as I have some great connections and always like to help if I can.

Brilliant cars mate. You seem like a genuine nice bloke not like some of the usual "look what car/house iv got and how much i earn" plonkers that we have on here these days.

I would be exactly the same, id have a renaultsport in my garage even if i won the lottery tonight.

I love your porker and I'm glad you use those cars properly, especially the Cup, it looks great going round Carousel.

Sure am mate. Be good to meet at last 'twinny' :)

Gonna be a great day.

"Twinny", if your 36th birthday is April 21st then I'm gonna start looking at family trees lol

Leave it in "Sport" mode as it will help you keep the car on the track, unless you are a very good driver then put it on CST which stands for "Complete Suicidal Training". I'm very much an average driver so need all the help I can get lol

How was the Skyline to pilot on track? Was it a bit 'sluggish' quickly followed by 'BAM!' of torque and power?

Could it shift its weight cleanly enough or did it feel heavy most of the time?

Cool thread this! :)

No they deliver power very smoothly and progressively. which is a shame as I quite like a big boost spike and a kick up the ass kinda power delivery!

Felt very nimble and the body control was superb. Very impressive and fast on track. Terribly hard ride on the road with the G-attack supsension. Standard ones are nicer. Mine also had a NASTY and snatchy HKS triple plate clutch... so as a roadcar it was no fun to pootle about in!

Has ALOT of grip in the dry on track... ABSOLUTELY NONE in the wet!!! suspect suspension was just too hard. I was doing Charity rides at Castle combe once and it started to rain. The car was a NIGHTMARE! I was going sooo slowly it was embarrasing! I turned in and it would understeer... if I breathed on the throttle it would oversteer!

I came into swap passengers and my mate said whats the problem with car? why am I going so slowly? I said that it was as fast as I could make it go!!! he laughed and took piss out of me... I threw him the keys. Next lap that stunning blue jap 'weapon' was overtaken by a STANDARD H reg Ford Fiesta XR2i!!!!! it was THAT bad!

In the dry it went around combe in 1.16... thats pretty quick for a road car.

Yes its awesome. lovely balance between luxury and sportyness. Still kinda fun.. but very comfortable and relaxing to drive.... and 'cool' in a way that a red ferrari can NEVER be!

Sadly he did. It was very even through bends and we played for half a lap. As soon as there was long straight though. It easily outdragged me.

Clio was AMAZING through bends. The set up from Mark Fish revolutionised it. It had ALOT more front end grip than the Ferrari and I almost binned in into the wall because I kept going into one corner to fast in it and scrubbing wide... where as Clio would just turn in and hang on!!!! mainly due to the much better tyres (R888's)

8.48 was a bit silly really. I was on right on the edge of my talent in a few places.... and thats NOT how to drive the Ring in my opinion....

I got bit carried away! I wont be going that quickly again!
I have the lap recorded on an AIM smartycam with GPS speeds and G forces on it. I will post it up later if people are interested?

Think I am gonna go back out this weekend as well. I love it over there.

8.48 is a quick time best we ever got in the my old cup was 8.40 but that was a std car apart from eibach springs.....they were happy days.

sorry not got any on my laptop, was basically the same as this but with a green nose cone, never was a fan of the front wings and wanted the motocycle style ones but my dad loved it.

we got ours as a non runner with a 1740 x flow and put the zetec engine in and stole most of the carb parts and got it all set up, went well for stock internals...

when youve got yours out for a track day give me a pm, ill fetch me lid and take you up on that ride offer.....

I make a pretty healthy amount of money via online marketing. Well, a lot more than my day job and with about a tenth the amount of work. This stuff inspires me to push it further, work harder and really have an awesome life!

Thanks Mat. In Green I actually like those style wings. in most other colours I don't. But that kinda works in a 'classic Lotus 7' way. Also you get alot less stones and crap whipped up with those ones.

bet it sounded good on the carbs as well!

will let you know on trackday. You can have a drive if you like. Its not the totally crazy animal you would think it is! 'you bend it, you mend it' rules apply ;)

Cracking thread, what a good read. Fair play on what you do.

Just to note, do you own Mark from Jam-Sports old Cup ? Recognise the plate !

Yep! thats the one.

he sold it to a girl called Helen.. she asked me to show her the lines around Bedford at a trackday few months ago. I LOVED the car! tried to buy it off her at end of day I loved it so much. one month later it was mine!

I sound like such an Essex chav in this vid! mainly because I am!

it starts boring but its actually quite entertaining at the end! at 7.40 ish on clock there is almost a wicked 3 car overtake! sadly the Focus had some SERIOUS turbocharged POWER!

no seatbelt?

Both had them on. As adz will tell you... The no seatbelt warning beeper in Ferrari is loudest and most annoying in world! Impossible to drive anywhere without them...

I ALWAYS wear a belt everywhere... I learnt my lesson when I broke my back and had to learn to walk again after not wearing a belt and crashing during the Gumball Rally in 2005....

Plenty of videos and pics of the crash... Happened in morroco. Still don't know how I survived. I wake up smiling every day since :)

No I was in the passenger seat of the Reyland Escort... Not for long though. I flew out after first few rolls and car then rolled over me and crushed me breaking my back.

I had just unclipped harness to grab my camera. Was bad timing but sooooo lucky to survive a huge speed roll with no belts in a fully caged car...

Will post pics if people are interested. The gumball was great experience and met some great people

  Ollie's Silver Cup
I'd say the Escort Cosworth, as it was a Reyland one that crashed iirc? and the other cossie posted earlier in this thread was also stickered up with Reyland colours :)
