there is a proper method with pressure gauges but most people seem to adjust by trial and error.slam on the brakes and see if your rear wheels lock/skid.adjust the compensator rod nut 1 turn and try it again.

your best to adjust it in wet/damp conditions as this is most likely when the wheels would skid.

one last question i have 15" can i get a 60mm drop with out arch work? and will the torsion bar still be fine?

as long as your shockers dont run out of travel(shouldnt think they would on a drop of approx 40mm) then they should be ok.the torsion bar will be ok however much you lower it.if the wheels rub would depend mainly on the wheel offset.im sure some clio owners will help you with this question.is it a clio 1 phase 3?

Think ive got the same set up as u.

Mk1, ph3, with 195/45/15 wheels, unlowered. think im going 40mm springs on the front and one notch on the torsion bar (roughly 45mm i think).

Standar shocks should hold out for quite a while, but the ride will be a bit more bumpy

If u go 55 at the front and 2 notches (60mm) at the back with 15"s on - u wont need arch work, but it will rub with a full load over speed bumps etc. In this case the ride will be very bumpy without a full kit on.

is the shoxs go its ok coz mum n dad pay for car to be fixed but wont pay for mods so can just perswade them to buy me full kit nxt time :D ive only seen 35and 60mm springs for them though so will 60 all round deffently be ok?

yeah should be fine. my car is dropped 55mm on the front and about 35/40mm on the back so the car just points down slightly ( i find it handles better than leveled out).
