Torsion Bars- anybody done them??

  Ph1 172
Hi
I was wondering if anybody has acually lowered their mk1 clio and could give me some instructions/advice. I believe the balancing or brakes or summat need to be altered also, I knew someone who once adjusted their torsion bars and not the brakes (or whatever it is your supposed to do) and the handling became really poor, it spun out a few times anyway!!
I've been incontact with a few places about doing it for me but no one seems keen, I've been told they will look at it and have a go but cant promise anything. I've soaked the back end in penetrating oil, and just thought I might as well have a go myself rather than pay someone to mess with it all day and then tell me they cant do it!!

So any advice would be much appreciated as I'm not sure where to start really. I may be a girlie but I did my discs and pads myself so I reckon I'd be able to do it if only I knew how!!!

i think it is quite simple to be honest, though one of the tools you need is a slide hammer, and i also think there is a guide on here you could have a look at!?
