Towing in a 182

Any idea why there isnt a towing eye in the 182? Is it something to do with the power of the car and the chassis or because there is no room for it?

My mates old style, self build mini copper 1.3 broke down in the middle of nowhere when i was following him but found out that i could not tow him home unless i went in reverse !! lol.....

Thankfully i am with the AA......

The problem is down to the exhaust fitment. You could have an tow vbar made though so long as you dont intent towing something very heavy.

Yeh.... thought it would be something like that...

Just as well they dont have one as i would have probably burnt out my clutch...lol

The car wouldnt be that bad for towing if they sold them with a better clutch. Its strong and torque only problem would be its weight or lack of weight reduces its potential to tow heavy cars or trailers etc.
