Towing with 172

Hi,

Ive got to tow my MG Midget to a garage to get the engine sorted tomorrow and looking in the manual it says that towing is not possible with the 172? All other models in the clio range can?

Are they just meaning you cant fit a tow bar because of the low rear bumper (Im going to use a tow rope anyhow) or is there something structural I should be worrying about?

i believe that it is tow bar towing that you cannot do in a 172 (though dont assume im correct, i dont own a 172)
