I can't do anything right now as the weather is terrible out there, so thought I'd set up a diary thread dead early.
So, my old clio I sold back in June/July time. Never regretted selling a car so much

Sold it as I bought this on a whim, a good car for what it is, but not really for me. Its fast, handles well, but isn't exactly fun to drive...

So I got a bit bored and traded it for this, R26. Great car tbh, well made imo, good handing, fast, roomy, comfortable.

But, still not as fun as the clio, probably about to drop in value pretty sharpish, and I really wanted to downgrade to get a bit of money in the bank.
Had a few offers for trades, none really stood out. I wanted a good condition, low mileage clio in a good colour (i.e not arctic or silver :quiet
Got an offer on boxing day for a trophy though. Looked a bit rough in the picture, but on paper sounded quite good, and the guy selling it seemed a sound enough person (despite being scottish). We made a deal, managed to squeeze a little more cash out of him too
So today I drove all the way to Carlisle to see each others cars and we were happy do the deal, so here it is, looking very sorry for itself:
So, one very filthy clio.
It needs a couple of bits doing to it, the biggest being a new steering wheel. But it has only got 38K on the clock, had the suspension refurbished 12 months ago at 32K miles, had both belt kits done around the same time by the main dealer, and the same main dealer has looked after it since new.
It's one previous owner, the first owner has even written in the back of the handbook every time he did something/had something done which is nice too
I didn't achieve a huge amount of money in the bank after all, not compared to if I has got a 172 cup, but its a car I have wanted to own for a while, a lot of fun to drive (I got to drive a pretty empty A65 home in it :approve, and definitely a keeper.
So, my plans are to keep/make it pretty standard, and do the following ASAP:
Fit new bulbs all round, already ordered some nice white one's which a lot of the Golf GTi boys use
New/Refurbished Steering Wheel
Change the gash stereo to my own BT HU
Remove carbon bonnet and replace original (which was provided)
Remove carbon bullets and diamond and replace originals (also provided)
Re fit CAT, as it currently has a decat which is too loud for my delicate ears (CAT provided too)
Give it a really good clean, inside and out
Then enjoy it, keep it serviced, drive it, take pictures of it!
