No. Fact. The reason why they used on race cars and bikes is that the dampers in such applications take a hammering, which in a normal damper would overheat the oil, thus changing the bump/rebound properties.
Hence the use of a remote reservoir. Keeps the oil at a more constant temperature and therefore teh bump/rebound properties stay more constant. Absolutely no need at all on a road car.
