tuners in the north

Wheres the closest tuner to Preston/Manchester in the North. I'm after getting matched inlets, sports cat, remap and upgraded brakes (the ones I have are pish). Went to GDI downsouth for my exhaust, and it was a fair trek from here

For remap and all the other bits there is this company, RS Tuning, local to you. He has a good rep on here. He also has a tie in with BenR so thats your inlet sorted from a good source aswell.

I live in Manchester, there's not any tuners around here I'd recommend for Clio's. He's been there before and was happy and I've stated I make the effort to go there and it's not an issue.

back on topic. theres no 1 up here tbh mate. i nearly used gdi about 5 years ago now for a btm end balance/lighten, found them far too expensive , so , built my own engine. havent looked back since. has beaten cars from pretty much every recognised reno tuner with same ish spec, and has never really let me down, apart from the kent cams i used exploding due to their shite design, thanks for fuk all kent.
so would advise you to do it yourself mate. will save yourself a huge bill and the satisfaction you get afterwards is much more than it would be for just shellin out a load of coin.
and chip wizards in rochdale is your man for chipping. apparently his quality has dropped off a little, but i reckon even a badly mapped chip wizards motor will be on a par with a good map by anyone elses standards.

You can mail order all of the hardware and get a GroupN ECU. A decent local garage will be able to fit these parts without a problem.

i am being fair mate. hes overpriced imo. far too much for my budget. so did it myself at a fraction of the cost, and with better results

think thats more to do with badly set up suspension, for the conditions, too heavy a right foot, no TC, ESP,ABS, wet leaves on road etc etc etc hehe.

OK lets summarise this:
RS Tunin - OK - Gains certainly ain't what it says on the tin, but i did it and was happy enough.
GDi - Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, but thats just history.
YS - Decent products, would i buy anything from them...Mayb, but the vee's stayin std. Certainly cheapest for a number of products tho. Technical knowledge is good too
HILL POWER - Ermm...Dunno, bit hit or miss really, Nick seems to know the score on more things. Worth considering for parts.
AWT - Don't really think Ben's interested now, he's doing bigger stuff now.
SO whats the score... Leave it std and when your bored, sell it and buy something faster
