Turbo in a clio

I heard once that a renault 5 turbo will bolt straight on to certain old clio engines. I know it is possible to get a turbo in an old clio but is it really that easy.

I have an old 1.4 rt with an E-type engine (I think) anyone know anymore details would really appreciate it.

Not that easy - people generally put the entire engine from the 5 into the Clio.

Yep as Mike says, most people that do it, just transfer the R5 turbo engine into the Clio.

Just because its easier or will you get more power than clio engine + 5 turbo?

i think youll find both. The 5 turbo engine is good for 250bhp

You need to spend at least £3 - 4k to get that though - but yeh it is possible ( dont expect reliability though )

for £1500 (i think) you can get a direct fuel injection kit complete with ecu for the 5 engine aswell.

IIRC The GTT engine was a c-type lump and the only clio AFAIK that had the was the really really old 1.1s.
