Tutorial - Camera Filters

Pretty much yeh, comes with the filter holder which is essential, but as you say you need the adapter ring too.

I only have one, a 77mm, as all Nikon 'pro' lenses are 77mm.

I must admit I don't use the ND filter it comes with that much these days, as I prefer the Big Stopper ND filter, but it does come in handy from time to time. Depends what sort of shot you want to take really.

I've just bought a B&W '10' stopper, went for a filter thread fitting in the end as all my lenses are 49mm!

^ No problem.

I might add another section for the square type filters, as quite a few people are interested in getting them. Just got to get my ass in gear and get outside lol!

My local camera shop has a big box of second hand filters they will sell you for 2.50, its a bit hit and miss but I've bagged a few bargains, worth checking your own indie camera shop as when they buy lenses the filters get taken off and are often sold cheaply.

Please do!

I have been using my Nikon lenses without any filters most of this week out here (Malaga) and the camera IMO is faster for burst shots, IQ is much better :)
Normally I have a UV one permanently on ALL lenses, picked up a mint 70-300 VR for going away and bought I new filter for it - haven't even opened it lol

All my filters are screw-in Hoya Pro's too - just a real ballache to keep clean!

Have a few of the cheaper ND ones too, and the "star" filters for the wide lens
