I beleive only the mk1 Vees were made in Sweden. TWR also built 3 prototypes all black and 1 ended up on ebay a few years back, I think the other 2 were scrapped.
I purchased one of the development cars from them - was a silver MK1 V6 on a 2000 x plate - it didnt even have a plaque giving you the ID of the car. Bought it from a guy called Dave Appleby who purchased all the stock from TWR when they stopped making the V6. Saw all 5 of the cars at his house including a 6R4 he was building at the time
There were 5 of these cars originally - the first one ever built was based on a 1.6 16v 3dr in matt black. Dave had this in his workshop in Devon with all the paperwork / buildsheet from the TWR team from day 1 of the project. God knows were it is now. Dave appleby was one of the original designers / builders of the Metro 6R4. He stills builds them and recently built one for Colin Mcrae before he died
Our company bought quite a lot of the stock from Dave for the MK1 Clio V6.
Seen this car as well and it is a pile of s**t. It could be a development car as there were tell tale signs - its got a 1998 Laguna V6 lump with a distributor and plug leads !!! was rolling road tested at 170 bhp lol
Dont think so as TWR had nothing to do with the MK2 V6. The chassis number on the silver MK2 in the pic actually corresponds to a 1.6 16v which is a coincidence as the TWR prototype was also a 1.6 16v car. Why didnt they use a 172 as a base car ? would have made more sense ?
