The GTV is fantastic once front suspension is sorted (bottoming out). Its very direct, better than a 172, and, dare i say it, the M3.

wongy, the ek9 was next to impssible to get to do that 1/4 mile time, not in england anyway, i reasearched them cos i was dying for the faster one(the one with limited slip diff) and a guy had one who took it to pod his best ever time was high fourteens. 0-100 is 17 secs. calls himself midnight r. insurance 18 too. gorgeous stealth machine but they expensive

What! Its beautiful..at least in lusso trim, seats are great if a bit uncomfy, EVERYONE has coped the dash from the gtv too.

Autodelta are a great company, can make the GTV sound so good it hurts!

im sure they will do a ton faster than 17 secs. but hey i would have one but its impossible to insure being and i port and high ins group.really exclusive too

maybe the guy that owned it aint that good a driver. vtec cars are very hard to launch perfectly

i see a ek with a b18c engine from a teg R and that running std management and engine would run 13 sec quarters. i thought it was a normal ek R but looking and engine spec it was a b18 engine not a b16 engine

and a teg holding it own against a rx7

and one where a teg owner tries to race a ferrari.

i got load downloaded off kazaa

think the ek R looks wicked in a stealth way.

think honda is the only manu that dont make nice looking cars but they build wicked engines and some or best FWD drivers

yeah, i was dying for one at the time, contacted loads of importers and next to no feed back, you read the engine spec?, the quality of parts used is amazing, i was wtting myself reading it, and used to have right site in my favourites but lost it when i got new computer

ek R are low on the ground think there like 3oo in the country. i wanted to look at one for sale in birmingham but i could never afford it then anyway so pointless

i love the honda type R. with exception to the newer ones the old ones were the nuts. so raw and def a close as street racer a possible as std

Didnt you just have an evo or something. The 2 doors arent as good as the 4 doors, though i doubt you would of realised that if you havent had it long.

Ive just swapped my 172 for a STI8 (new style.) Well pleased with the build quality is very impressive compared to early versions.

Having to change gear at 4000rpm is a bit of a bind, but I can feel the potential. Roll on the 1000 mile service.

Ill bring it to a meet Craggy!

Rob yes i did have an evo someone offered me a very good p/x on my evo, i must say i prefer the 2 doors to 4 doors and dont care what people say,.Although my 2 door has got a doing engine , exhaust, wheels, dials on dash so am very pleased.

2 doors are how all imprezas should have been, that 5th gear program which was mentioned earlier in the thread is ancient , bit unfair as the evo was 300bhp and the impreza was 261 so not suprising being 2 secs slower, i would say go for an older impreza, if insurance aint a problem go for a jap one, like an STi type R or RA, 0-60 4.3secs, 0-100, 12secs, but running costs are fairly high, same for Evos worse MPG due to smaller tank, its all down to personal preference

I presume you have full decat, dont you love that flat four burble ! I did look at and STi V type R, but couldnt find a clean enough example, instead a settle for my 4 door uk MY00, at least i dont have to get out when people are in the back anyway !
