Uprated oil pump (f4r)

  Clio mk1 , renaults...
Hi, does anybody know if there is any uprated oil pump for more pressure for the f4r engine? Also do we know what pressure should have a healthy OEM oil pump??
Thanks in advance, Alex

Not sure if it's the same on the Renault ones, but on the xu Peugeot engines you can buy springs that go in the pump for different pressures.
Might be worth looking into if Renault do the same.

If you buy a new pump from Renault, they have been updated to run higher pressure.

My forged F4R turbo makes 5.0BAR of oil pressure, cold, running 10w40 oil.

Just some rough figures of mine.. I think mine has a fairly good oil pump.

  • Initial engine startup fires straight upto 6bar (on frosty mornings upto 7bar)
  • Hot idle (80 degrees) fluctuates between 1.5 and 1.7bar
  • Bimbling around town anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5bar
  • Motorway speeds around 5bar
