Uprated/Stronger Rubber Exhaust Mounts - Any good?

  Racing Blue 182
Hey guys,

Was looking at getting new exhaust mounts as mine are stuffed and I came across these on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-CLIO-182-2-0L-16V-REAR-EXHAUST-MOUNTING-PAIR_W0QQitemZ120525587708QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c0fe284fc#ht_1161wt_1165

They state that:
Please note, these are not the same parts as the normal Clio mountings which are much softer, these mountings are made of much harder/stronger rubber to support the very heavy weight of the rear exhaust boxes on the Clio 182

Sounds good to me as I'm sick of the weak Renault ones. Has anyone tried them and found them noticeably better?

Cheers,
Dan

Yeah notice how he doesnt sell these individually either? I checked his other listings and he only sells the cheapo mounts that everyone else sells (individually i mean).

Ha fair enough.

I need to order mounts soon anyway so I might try them and see how they go.

I used power flex ones on my old Clio it was so stiff that the weld failed on my silencer! Was a magnex though lol

Just get a new Renault mount and reinforce it somehow. Old socket bits, offcuts of pipe and used rubber bushes from other parts of the car (suspension etc) can be placed in the gaps in the rubber on the standard mount. Use tie wraps to secure. Stops the rubber from stretching and distorting when it perishes over time.

I think there's a guide on here somewhere.
