UR 200... After cleaning session.

  200 Ultra Red
Had a few hours spare this afternoon so decided to give the 200 a good clean and wax.

Car is a standard 200FF, really the only modification I have made so far is the RS badge on the steering wheel.

On reflection Recaro's would probably have been a good shout as although a 1k option I would probably have made that back on re-sale... you live you learn eh.

Love my standard wheels in gloss black and will not be swayed towards speedlines... haha!!

Thinking of a black 'gloss vinyl' roof and a K-Tec 'Sprint' Spoiler... what are peoples thoughts on these mods...?

Cheers.

Looks lovely, one of my favourite colours on the 197 & 200.

Personally I wouldn't go for a black roof.

Looks awesome! Have fun with it! There fantastic cars now, so much more refined than the mk2.

lovely car but orange peel paint is bad on that? Id have to get that sanded down and machine polished!

Or is it just me? Some parts look fine, the boot looks like it has it though?

Love it.

Lots of love for Ultra Red on here lately!

I was hoping it'd stay rare so mine will be worth a little more. Lol

K-tec spoiler is a winner in my book. Not sure about the black roof. I take it that'd be a wrap?

Ahh. I definitely wouldn't spec it but I would be tempted by the wrap as it's not permanent.

  172 Cup
Stunning motor! Best colour for a 200 imo, i would defo get one in UR if i had the moneyzz. The ktec spoiler would look awesome on there, i would leave the roof the way it is.

Thanks for the comments guys, had her since October and still get that buzz every time I get behind the wheel... ;)

Jury is still out on the roof, but thinking a spoiler is definitely on the cards, however I think I'll be going for something relatively subtle ruling out the cup spoiler as an option.

Chris mate, I've been drooling over your 'fisher price rocket' for years, I'm sure your UR200 will be just a spectacular given time

That is bloody lovely....!!! Red and black is a killer combo! My personal preference would be a spoiler to finish it off but a gorgeous car none the less!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Looks ace. UR is FTW!! Although i'd be tempted to leave it a bit dirtier/take pictures further back with that much orange peel ;)

Lack of Recaros/Speedlines does make me a little sad though.

Cheers for all the positive comments... I do luuurve my UR200 ;)

Can some do me a favour and clarify what I can do about the 'Orange Peel'.... I bought the car brand new in October and assumed that the paintwork finish would have been flawless from the factory...?

I keep my cars clean but do not claim to be a detaling expert so any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!!

Awesome! Love these in red and IMO those wheels in gloss black look better than Speedlines as they're something different ;)

IMO you need lows to pull off a spoiler and I reckon a gloss black roof would look awesome, and really tie in with the red and black theme.

Oh and lose the CLIO badge ;)

Yup. I'm ditching the Clio badge ASAP on mine. Looks much cleaner at the back then.

Did the same on the 133.

to get rid of the "orange peel" effect id first be contacting renault and say the paintwork is crap and you want a contribution towards the cost of putting it right as you dont expect to spend £14k+ on a car with paintwork not perfect.

To get rid of it it needs to be wet sanded then machine polished by someone like russZS on here, proper detailer.

A decent layer of wax on the boot will pretty much sort out the orange peel, Well until it gets a proper going over with a machine polisher etc.

That's what I did.

This photo is mainly for annoying chris.

Think I might give Renault a shout... what's the worst they can say.

Anyone got a ballpark figure for sorting out the paintwork...?

Looking good Iain mate
