mikeh Car 182 Trophy Jul 21, 2013 #8 Anyone know if the battery is required for the transponder to work or is it inductive like RFID?
Rob ClioSport Moderator Car 650 - V8 Goodness Jul 21, 2013 #9 I don't think the battery is required to start the car, no.
mikeh Car 182 Trophy Jul 21, 2013 #10 Well, a trip back to get my other key (that went through the wash years ago) and the car started. I'm guessing the salt water must have killed the transponder chip as well. Does anyone know if you can buy just the replacement PCB for the keyfob?
