Urgent help key wet alarm won't disable

Got my key wet and button wouldn't open car. Unlocked with passenger side and now the alarm is going off constantly and won't start.

Lift bonnet, remove battery?

Key fob in the airing cupboard for a few days?

It's the alarm telling you the key is wet, nothing to worry about.

alternatively, can you find the alarm siren and err 'Disable' it then drive home in peace?

Its immobilised so won't even start

Anyone know if the battery is required for the transponder to work or is it inductive like RFID?

I don't think the battery is required to start the car, no.

Well, a trip back to get my other key (that went through the wash years ago) and the car started.

I'm guessing the salt water must have killed the transponder chip as well.

Does anyone know if you can buy just the replacement PCB for the keyfob?

washed my key and the battery just came out of it holder in the key it is working perfectly now the insides were bone dry

It still has to be coded sadly, which is where the money comes in.
