Urgent help required - Camber adjustment bolt fitting coilovers

  Looking for 182
Hi all,

Things have gone seriously tits up with my Ktec coilovers. I've fitted both front struts, and I had all of the bolts in and tight. I tried adjust the camber bolts but it wasn't changing the camber. I think this was due to the bottom bolt being completely tight.

I've taken the camber bolts out now and they've shredded and the washer is bent which means I can't even get them back on now.

Am I screwed? Can I use the standard bolts temporarily so I can contact Ktec for replacement ones?

They really should put ****ing instructions in the kit :(

Ok cool. I think I sorted it anyway :)

Managed to get the washer on the bolt once I'd straighted it out with a hammer. I'll still be asking Ktec for new ones though.

Ok, so today didn't go well.

4-5 hours it's taken me to get the fronts on, and now there is now light. The car is higher on one side, and camber is different on each side, and it's bloody hard to adjust it accurately.

A few questions:

- Once the camber has been set, how tight should you do the camber bolts up? Is it a 'tight as possible', or should you purposely only tighten them a little but (the reason I ask is that I think I've screwed the threads by over tightening)
- I've tried tightening one of the camber bolts, and it feels like it's getting tigether, then suddenly gets loose again, this goes over and over again. Is the bolt thread screwed?
- Will Ktec give me new camber adjustment bolts do you think?

k-tec won't GIVE you new ones no

Fair enough, I don't mind buying them as long as they don't take the piss.

I'll be putting the rears on first thing tomorrow and then playing with the fronts to get them set up as best as possible, and get everything tightened because I think right now the bolts aren't tight enough.

i assume you don't have a torque wrench?

Unfortunately not, and I now realise I should have one. Going to pick one up on Monday, but I need to get the car in a drive-able state before then.

My main concern is that one of the camber bolts is a bit screwed, so I'm not sure I can tighten it fully. Is that a major issue? It's tight, but not properly torqued. Do you think I'd be best off using the standard bolts until I but some replacements from Ktec?

put the standard front suspension back on, the stock bolts won't fit in the upper holes due to the bit of metal for the camber bolts
