Urgent help required! Car won't start

Hi all. I was travelling from Edinburgh to York, car was driving brilliantly! All of a sudden, whilst doing around 60mph on a dual carriage way, I lost all power.

I've been towed to a garage after about 5 hours!

Battery is fine, lots of 98 Ron fuel, oil is fine too. I managed to get it to start again for literally a second but that was it.

I have used a scanner and there are no faults scanned.

I'm thinking it could be crank shaft sensor but thought that this would show up a fault code?

I'm stranded at the moment so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Crank Sensor would stop a car starting, but wouldn't cut off an already running car. (Don't take this as gospel, I am no mechanic!)

Also just to add, I just done the rs tuner 98 Ron map a couple of days before. I can't see this having any effect as it was driving faultlessly for around 200 miles or so before..

Car has been looked at this morning briefly. They don't believe it's the crankshaft sensor. They confirmed there is no fault codes either. They are off to do a compression check....

It's *******! They were about to do the compression check.... They found part of my spark plug flying about! Was rattling in the inlet manifold..

All belts, dephaser pulley etc all done November last year.. No idea how it's happened?!

Well known specialist! I won't name any names.. No reason to believe it has anything to do with their service... Just can't understand what caused it ..
