Used a polarizing filter for the first time

Hi all,

I dont usually post in here but thought I would on this occasion.

Had my DSLR (Canon 550D) for just over a year now, and I was fed up of my shots in nice weather looking washed out.

Got hold of a polarizing filter and tried it out this morning, bloody great bit of kit!

What lens is it on? Doesn't look right IMO. The darkness in the center of the sky looks odd, doesn't look natural.
What filter was it too. Brand wise I mean? I've been looking at one for my 77mm thread sigma 10-20 lens and eBay have them ranging from £3.99 - £75 so there will be a massive quality difference.

Essential piece of kit really. A lot of people overlook this when it comes to their camera gear.

They transform car photography, shooting in the daytime.

Oh it's only the kit lens and a cheap filter, just got it to try out really.

I take your point, however for me as an amateur it's a marked improvement on the "without" shots.

yeah you need to rotate filter so the darker areas look more natural.
